Exercise and Smoking

Everytime that I have thought about the benefits of quitting smoking, one of the first ones is that I can start exercising and getting into shape. All that I had to do was to quit smoking first.

Exercise has always been a great help for me to stay quit. What I never thought of was to use it as a tool to help me quit smoking. Exercise does make you feel good - really it does!

Light exercise gives you some energy. You feel good about getting out and going for a walk, hike, light job, lift a few weights etc. Don't let the fact that you are still smoking stop you from getting off the couch.

Obviously you do not want to over do it. Try not to smoke for at least an hour before and after exercise. It does affact your heart rate.

So - get out for a walk. It may be just the thing to help you quit!
